Melissa, this is incredible research and so damn important for everyone to understand.

Thank you! Yes, I agree! And these social platforms need to be doing something, cause what they’re doing isn’t working and it’s making things worse. Maybe our government needs to step in, not that I think they will.

Hey Lioness—😉 is there a way to share this whole article so people who NEED to see it/read it won’t get paywall’ed by substack? It’s one reason I’m not crazy about substack. I was happy to add you (and cancel some other subscriptions of people I used to agree with but don’t agree with any more) but many people won’t pay if they don’t know you/are skeptical but who need to read it. Appreciating all you do. You ARE a Lioness!

I kept it behind a pay wall because I wanted to make sure it didn’t get attacked. That’s the only reason.

Will you write about this (you can delete after you’ve read it): a friend who is not anti Israel asked me, “ you keep saying the mainstream press is biased against Israel, but why should I think the Jewish press isn’t biased in favor of Israel?”

I’m multitasking too much right now to even entertain an answer to this. But I’ll bet you can come up with a good post about “why believe Israel?”

I told him to read this post as a start. But others have asked me the same.

If someone is not subscribed to Melissa’s substack they can only read the first few sentences. That’s it.

So it does little good to post it on Facebook (I’m no longer on Twitter).

Can you get it on Instagram?

Dear Lioness,

I am being trolled something awful, since confronting someone online who developed a big online and public presence.

She was a Curtis Institute student who started there at a young age with a brother who were violin students of Jascha Brodsky, an elder and established violin professor at Curtis.

After Mr. Brodsky’s passing , she made legal claims against him that were pretty ugly, as well as coinciding with the wide ranging Me Too movement.

This is not Hollywood, but Philadelphia, my home for all my 72 years.

I could blame my failure to establish as a violinist the same way in several instances, but I refuse to!

There are many factors at hand here that are not being fully investigated.

This ugly accusation also took down the Curtis dean at the time.

I worked under this dean in other areas.

He was a well respected musician, music educator in the Philadelphia Public School system for many years.

He guest conducted a Special Orchestra in Philadelphia, and gave no hint of involvement or negative comments concerning gossip in the field.

Other educators left much to be desired as teachers, and ethical examples, but never was a finger pointed at them.

The aggrieved violin student had the whole trial documentation published in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

More recently, she brought forth a dramatic documentary film about the incident, that apparently many blindly support.

Accusations have consequences, and much of it is collateral and may be based on prejudice and other race bias, not to mention religious!!
