After Never Again
A live conversation about the upcoming PBS documentary
Join Tyrell Bowman and me tomorrow, June 11th at 9am EST/2pm UK for a live conversation with Charlie Spickler: Charlie's Substack and Mitchell Turk, the team behind After Never Again, a feature-length documentary coming to PBS.
The film follows something that’s hard to dismiss once you notice it: across the United States and Canada, in very different communities and contexts, Jewish people are describing the same experience. The details vary. The language shifts. But what’s underneath stays consistent.
After Never Again brings together a wide range of voices including Montana Tucker, Dara Horn, Jonathan Greenblatt, Jonah Platt, Matthew Nouriel, and little ol’ me — to talk about what antisemitism actually looks like right now…how it’s being reframed, normalized, and showing up across ideological lines in ways that can’t be written off as isolated incidents.
It’s also made for audiences with no direct connection to Jewish life. Where media coverage has been fragmented and social media has amplified misinformation, this film tries to replace confusion with clarity by grounding everything in lived experience.
At the center of the documentary is the concept of Tribe. Not as a label or a slogan, but as something that surfaces through shared experience: history, customs, language, and a historical connection to the land of Israel. The film finds that people who have never met, thousands of miles apart, keep telling variations of the same story.
This is sure to be an interesting conversation Hope you’ll join us! Please make sure you’re following or subscribed to Guy Montrose and Charlie Spickler! And don’t forget me, Melissa!
June 11, 9am EST/2pm UK. See you here on Substack Live!

I'm shocked PBS is showing this. I'll believe it when I see it. If NPR takes a break from fluffing Graham Nazi Platner to deigns to cover it, they'll go with the angle that the Jews brought it on themselves.
Will this be recorded for those who can’t make it?
